Bruce Peninsula National Park 3-day Road Trip Review

The Bruce Peninsula is located southwest of Ontario, with Lake Huron on the left and Georgia Bay on the right. There are two national parks on the peninsula: Ocean Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park, among which Vase Island is the most famous. YOu can take a sightseeing ferry and enjoy the beauty of the two sides along the way. Through the clear water, you can clearly see the remains of the ships that sank to the bottom of the lake a long time ago. Imagine a forgotten tall. The other one is the famous Bruce Peninsula National Park. The hiking route along Georgian Bay in the park is the most beautiful section of the famous Bruce Trail. Along the road, we pass forest trails, lakeshore stone forests, overhanging cliffs, deep caves, golden beaches, and green ponds. The water in Georgian Bay differs from near to far, with 5 colors ranging from light to dark. It's a sight to behold!

The main road leading to the Bruce Peninsula is Highway 6, which has a maximum speed of 80 km/h. The speed limit is 50 km/h when passing through towns and villages. Therefore, the road is almost a leisurely journey to enjoy the rural scenery. It takes almost 4 hours to drive from Oakville!

Follow Highway 6 to the northwest. At the end of the road is the small town of Tobermory. This is a very small and ordinary port town. Similar to all tourist areas, it has been very commercialized, filled with shops, restaurants and hotels everywhere.

It is best to arrange a three-day trip to the Bruce Peninsula so that you can take your time to enjoy the journey.

One of the main attractions of the Bruce Peninsula is the Flowerpot Island in Marine Park. Take a boat from Tobermory ferry. The boat takes about 25 minutes to get there one way. I recommend taking the glass-bottom boat so you can see the sunken ship at the bottom of the lake! You probably should spend about 4-5 hours on the island. Of course, if you just pass by for a trip, you can also finish the tour in two and a half hours. There are no commercial facilities on the island, so bring your own food and water. Be very careful when walking on the island, because you could encounter snakes!

The following is the schedule of our visit. The first day was adjusted due to the rain.

Since this activity is mainly camping and picnics. I can't make a recommendation for the local food and lodging at this time.

Campsite situation:

It is best to book a camp in a national park, but you must book it as soon as the online appointment is open around January, otherwise, there will be no camps on weekends or holidays!

Link to the National Park Campsite and Parking Space Reservation:

Because I didn't plan ahead, I didn't book a national park camp this time. I booked a family-run camp, Tobermory Village Campground. This must be booked by email.
